Who’s Ready for the 2025 CHaD Hero?!

2025 CHaD HERO Information

Sunday, October 19th, 2025

Finding Our Stride is excited for the annual HERO run benefiting Dartmouth Health Children’s, to be held this year on October 19th! All in-person participants receive an online fundraising page, official 2025 CHaD HERO T-shirt, race bib, food and drink, and more at the CHaD HERO festival! No matter how you participate, you have the option to be a part of a team and all participants are eligible for HERO fundraising rewards!

1. Registering for the CHaD Hero

Please confirm with your coaches which race distance you and your child should be registering for, and review the step-by-step registration instructions.

2. Fundraising Minimums:

There are no registration fees required to sign up for the CHaD Here. Instead, some runners will have fundraising minimums to meet before the event. Runners 13 and older have fundraising minimums between $25 and $100 (see chart below). There are no minimums for children 12 and under, but they are encouraged to try and raise at least $25.

FOS does not want the fundraising amounts to be a barrier for anyone to participate in the CHaD Hero. We encourage all runners to raise what they can, but if the minimum is not met by the time registration closes, FOS will contribute the difference to bring them up to their fundraising goal.

3. How Do I fundraise?

Many FOS teams engage the entire school in coin drives, bake sales, or spaghetti dinners! These are some ways to raise funds that can be pooled to meet fundraising minimums for runners.

Some FOS runners email, text, or call family members and friends to ask for their pledges of support to help meet a fundraising minimum. Below is a one-pager and sample letter to use:

Dear [Name],

This fall, I’m running in the CHaD HERO on October 19th with my Finding Our Stride team to support the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD).

Finding Our Stride is a free running program that helps kids like me build confidence, fitness, and community. Each season ends with the CHaD HERO — a chance for hundreds of us to come together, run for a great cause, and give back.

This event means a lot to me, and I’ve set a personal fundraising goal of $[amount]. Would you consider making a donation to support my run and the children at Dartmouth Health?

You can give online at: [Insert your personal fundraising link]
Or mail a check to:

Medical & Healthcare Advancement
Attn: Gift Recording
One Medical Center Drive (HB 7070)
Lebanon, NH 03756

Please make checks payable to DH-H/CHaD HERO and include my name in the memo line or on a note with the check.
You can also give cash or a check directly to my
[mom/dad/grandparent/etc] if that’s easier.

Thank you so much for supporting me and this great cause!

With gratitude,
[Child’s Name]

Many adults email or call co-workers, family, or friends to ask for their pledges of support too!

Some runners do extra helpful chores - babysitting, emptying the dishwasher, or mowing the lawn - to raise extra allowance money to contribute toward a fundraising minimum.

We always like to hear about creative ways our FOS runners and families have supported DH Children’s!
